Founded in 1952, our firm has its roots in the general practice of law.
Since the early 1970’s, California State Bar certified specialists have directed the firm’s efforts in defending public agency employers as well as insurers in workers’ compensation claims before the California Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, the California Courts of Appeal, and the California Supreme Court.
Subrogation rights are also pursued aggressively in both federal and state courts. The firm’s experience defending uninsurable claims brought against employers, including serious and willful misconduct and unlawful discrimination under the Labor Code, allows our attorneys to advise employers on related and sensitive personnel decisions often faced after an industrial injury has occurred.
Although this practice is characterized by a unique mixture of statutory mandates, appellate decisions, and an administrative law forum renowned for its liberal application of the law in favor of injured workers, the firm’s litigators are well-equipped to bring cases to trial despite the limited amount of discovery allowed.
